Kasey Wilkinson, MHK Play Studio’s fearless leader and founder, was recognized by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce with the Women/Minority Owned Business Award. Every year, only seven local organizations are recognized as business award winners by the Chamber, and we are thrilled that MHK Play Studio received this honor!

“MHK Play Studio is fully-staffed by women and we’ll soon launch strategic partnerships with other women-owned businesses,” Wilkinson said. “My intention is to continuously elevate how we serve the community, and that often happens through collaboration. I am honored and grateful to the Chamber and our community for their support and recognition.”

The Women/Minority Owned Business Award “recognizes diverse business leaders and decision-makers across all industries who have a proven track record of excellence in advocating for others within their communities and workplaces throughout the local community” (manhattan.org).

MHK Play Studio recognizes that Manhattan is a diverse community, with a high population of military families and international students and tailors programming and offerings to support these specific groups. In fact, our families often comment on how much they appreciate how we support a variety of cultures through open-ended materials, nurturing relationships, and encouraging play with all.

Cultural appreciation is one of our core values as a community-centric business. All of our educators take training on supporting children and families of various cultures. Through building relationships with each family, we ensure that each family and culture is part of educational programming.
