Summer Camp
MHK Play Studio is licensed through KDHE Child Care and follows all school-age licensing requirements to ensure a safe, high-quality experience for your child. As an outdoor-focused facility, we believe in the power of nature-based learning, giving children the freedom to explore, create, and grow in a natural environment. This means:

MHK Play Studio enrolls school-age children for full-day programming during the summer. Children must currently be enrolled in Kindergarten at the time of enrollment and will not exceed the age of 12.

All of our team members have received the initial required training from KDHE regarding health and safety. Additionally, all full-time team members are required to take continued education hours each year to meet licensing requirements. Further, all summer lead teachers are degreed teachers with ample experience working with children. Part-time team members complete the state training requirements.

Our capacity will be 36 with a ratio of 1:15. Enrollment will be full-time or part-time (MWF or TU).
As of March 28th, there is a Tuesday spot available and a Friday spot available.

All families must submit the enrollment inquiry linked below. Once received, our team will verify a space and submit the required KDHE paperwork, summer contract, and enrollment fees. All must be submitted to secure your spot.

The fees for summer are non-refundable and are as follows:
A $100 enrollment fee and a $125 activity/material fee. The activity fee assists in the cost of busing for the 3 field trips each week in June and July.
Each camper will also be required to purchase a City of Manhattan pool pass and a MHK Play Studio t-shirt for Friday field trips.
Summer fees are based on full or part-time enrollment.
All MHK Play Studio yearly members will receive a 5% discount on monthly rates.

Our program is anticpated to begin Tuesday, May 27th pending weather make-up days for USD 383 and contiue through August (the Friday before school starts).
We will be closed Friday, July 4th in recognition of the holiday.

We are a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) facility with a focus on adding in the arts and nature.
One field trip each week will be spent at Prairiewood exploring the prairie, insects, animals, and the water systems.
Each week a scheduled pool visit at either Northview or Cico.
Additional field trips each Friday in June/July will be focused around our community and support our philosophy. Examples have included: K-State Insect Zoo, Beach Museum, K-State Football, Fire Department and Egg Drop, Sale Barn, Horticultural Services, and Milford Nature Center.

Yes, as part of the program fee, children will receive two snacks and one lunch.
Field Trip days (Wednesday and Friday), parents will be required to pack a lunch for their child.
