Introducing the Atelier at MHK Play Studio: A Creative Space for Boundless Imagination
The Reggio Emilia approach places great emphasis on children's drawings as a form of communication and self-expression.
At MHK Play Studio, we believe that every child has a unique way of seeing and interacting with the world, and we're excited to announce the launch of our Atelier, a space where creativity, exploration, and expression come to life!
The Atelier, inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy, is more than just an art room. It's a vibrant workshop designed to encourage children to communicate their ideas, thoughts, and emotions through a variety of artistic mediums. Whether they’re experimenting with paint, clay, recycled materials, or natural elements, children will be guided to think, explore, and create in ways that build their confidence and curiosity.
What is the Atelier?
In the Reggio Emilia approach, the atelier is an integral part of learning. It’s a dedicated space for children to explore their creativity through hands-on activities, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression. At MHK Play Studio, our Atelier will allow children to freely experiment with materials in an environment where their voices and visions are valued.
What Can You Expect?
Our Atelier is thoughtfully designed with a wide variety of materials that allow endless opportunities for children to experiment and create. From drawing and painting to sculpting and building, the possibilities are truly limitless! The space will be open during normal business hours as long as other events are not planned. Each month, our educators will thoughtfully create opportunities for children to embark on creative journeys that not only stimulate their imagination but also enhance their motor skills, cognitive development, and ability to collaborate with others.
Guardians will be asked to assist children at the different experiences set up in the Atelier.
One side of the Atelier is set up as a open art space with a variety of materials. Once special space is the ‘Glue Table’ for you to create, design, and add to as a community art piece.
