MHK Play Studio announces Sip + Snack opening with Pacheco Beef partnership

Community over competition: Two Flint Hills women entrepreneurs partner to support each other’s businesses
The highly anticipated Sip + Snack, a gathering place at MHK Play Studio where families can enjoy craft soda and locally-sourced snacks, will open to the public Friday, Dec. 2 with a member-exclusive preview event and ribbon cutting to take place 3:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1.
“Our new space in the former Vikings Grille location presented the perfect opportunity to serve beverages and snacks,” said MHK Play Studio Owner and Founder Kasey Wilkinson. “My vision for the Sip + Snack involves supporting other businesses in our community by sourcing items locally. I met the owner of Pacheco Beef in Alma through Instagram, and knew right away it would be a great partnership to start with.”
The partnership involves snack offerings including grazing boxes that feature Pacheco Beef summer sausage, cheese, crackers, and fruit. Guests may also purchase Pacheco Beef products to take home and prepare including ground beef, a variety of steak cuts, hot dogs, brats, and roast.
“We run our ranch and beef shop out of Alma,” said Pacheco Beef Owner Wrenn Pacheco. “Having our product available at MHK Play Studio so that the Manhattan community has easy access to it is going to greatly benefit my business, and hopefully draw even more people to Kasey’s space as well.”
Kasey and Wrenn are both multi-passionate business owners that seek to build community through partnership. Additional partnership initiatives include a Pacheco Beef Tortilla Class hosted at MHK Play Studio. A popular event Wrenn puts on in Alma will now be available in Manhattan for families to partner with their kids to make homemade tortillas and learn to prepare beef for tacos using rancher Artruro Pacheco’s signature recipes.
Wrenn is also the author of the children’s book, My Mommy and Daddy are Ranchers, now for sale at MHK Play Studio. Plans for more initiatives are underway and will be announced in 2023.
